Price Car Subaru Exiga

Subaru Exiga Design
Subaru is known for creating exciting crossover station wagons, such as the first-gen Forester and Legacy Outback.

In Japan, Subaru has the Exiga 2.0GT, a vehicle that's part station wagon and part minivan. Despite its compact size, the Exiga features 7-passenger seating, with space left over for a couple of suitcases in the rear storage area. And although the Exiga isn't exactly Subaru's sportiest product, STI, Subaru's motorsports and tuning division, decided to spice it up and get the blood of Japanese judo moms pumping.

The power of the stock Exiga 2.0GT is rated at 221 bhp, but we expect that the STI variant will produce about 230. STI also dressed up the Exiga with a subtle body kit that gives the vehicle a little more flash. The hood scoop identifies it as the turbocharged version (a 146-bhp naturally-aspirated version is also available); an attractive face and flowing roofline reflect the stock Exiga's elegant character. The Exiga has an overall length, width and height of 186.6 in., 69.9 in. and 65.4 in., respectively, with a wheelbase of 108.3 in. The STI version sits about an inch lower than the stock version.

Aside from some breathing improvements, the Exiga 2.0GT by STI boasts no engine enhancements, just the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-4. But what makes this vehicle special are STI's improvements to the chassis. Among other things, it installed a firmer suspension, structural reinforcements to the chassis and better wheels and tires. These changes, according to Subaru, "ensure sporty handling for all drivers."

Sales targets for the new model, which starts at $37,490 and runs up to $41,990 for the Premium trim, are modest at between 50 and 75 a month, particularly given the value equation of the car which comes in at up to $7000 under the price of the equivalent Liberty wagon.
