Design Ford Taurus 2.0L
The first Taurus blasted onto the scene in the mid-1980s as Ford’s volume sedan, stunning the automotive world with an aero-focused design that sent competitors scrambling and buyers storming into Blue Oval showrooms. (It subsequently appeared on seven straight 10Best Cars lists.) By 1992, the Taurus was the bestselling car in America, a title it held through 1995.
The latest Taurus has been around in its current form since the 2010 model year, and we generally like it, but every accolade we might dole out comes with a “but”—it’s an attractive car, but the rear seat is comically cramped; it’s a comfy cruiser, but its heft and soft suspension preclude any athleticism.

And one might say that the 2010–2012 Taurus’s naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 had a bit of a drinking problem, at least according to the EPA estimates of 18 mpg city and 27 highway.
