Chevrolet Equinox SUV Design

Chevrolet Equinox Design
The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox has been revamped in order to bring the consumer more intriguing features in a more competitive package. Often passed over as a real contender in the SUV race, the Chevrolet Equinox is now looking to turn more heads and bring more realistic quality to the table. Simple, standard features make a big difference.

The USB port and the Bluetooth connectivity are certainly bonus upgrades from previous models. The same can be said for the leather steering wheel and the heated seats.

The standard transmission is an automatic, with the basic six speeds. With front wheel drive the Chevrolet Equinox averages 22 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. If you opt for the all wheel drive option you’ll have more power through the snow but find your gas mileage reduced to about 20 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon when on the open road. If you amp up to the V-6 you will watch your fuel efficiency drop to 17 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. As a crossover SUV, the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is available in 4 different versions, each sporting its own trim and offering special enhancements. The 2.4 liter engine is a 4 cylinder, 182 horsepower brings the 0 to 60 time to 9.3 seconds.

The interior has plenty of little places to store the important things like sunglasses and special road trip goodies but doesn’t have that great road feel to it. The steering is not the same as you would find on most cars. The Chevrolet Equinox is well designed as a head turner from the inside out. While the Chevrolet Equinox was crash tested against the 2010 standard (which brought it 5 stars) it has not yet been tested to the new 2011 standard which is an incompatible test with the 2010 version. The quiet ride and car like performance are a definite plus, as is the interior looks as well as functionality.

The cargo space is limited, despite a folding rear seat. With the rear seat in tact and all the way forward you will get about 41.4 cubic feet for storage and transport. With the rear seat unused and folded down the Chevrolet Equinox will cart 63.7 cubic feet of cargo. The rear seat slides forward and backward to make room for either passenger legs or cargo. They are also easy to recline for maximum comfort.
